OTOH, my brother probably could have solo'd it easily with zerking shotguns, one slag and one explosive, as the shield didn't seem to interact with his shots. Even with Zero, I had a hard time getting behind the shield guys / chieftans for a crit. We didn't have a big problem with big game hunt, being overleveled, but it's clear that the monsters were created with multiplayer in mind. We finished up play through 1 + dlc at level 38. $80 total for the experience seemed reasonable since neither of us gets much co-op gaming in. He doesn't like sci-fi stuff much but he seemed to take to this

there's not too many games I can play with my brother who has a mac (and doesn't want to bootcamp)Ģ. Not sure if the season passes were a good idea, but since I paid $10 each for the base game, it felt reasonable to support them, plusġ. I bought copies of the game + season passes for myself and my brother last week. Knoxx just rocked even without the level increase. I got the season pass and haven't done much in Torgue and haven't even DL'd the one after that. They just wanted to make a WoW grind game. The bug being the deletion of all BA points, skins, etc. The problem with coop required in BL2 is that the split screen is bugged so the 2nd player may end up as the useless Fable 2 sidekick.

On top of that BL1 was more single player focused with great COOP. In BL1 I felt like I could open any chest and there could be something amazing in it.in BL2 I know I need to farm bosses and that bums me out. I doubt DLC would have really helped out BL2, its format has changed so much from BL1. I think Knoxx was regarded so high because of the level cap increase.Ĭaptain Scarlett was pretty good, had tons of good gear just for quests which is a plus. She was a much more fun character than Hammerlock. I'm cautiously optimistic about Tiny Tina's DLC though. Hammerlock DLC was more on the boring side. At least Torgue had more checkpoints to come back to unlike Knoxx, which had no fast-travel stations and was fucking huge. Torgue was fun, except for the final boss and the stupidly large maps, a problem that General Knoxx had. In fact, it's probably my favourite place in the game. I must admit that I really enjoyed the Captain Scarlett DLC. I really think good DLC would have saved the broken metagame too. Hopefully this 4th one is om the previews it looks like it can potentially be. And really Knoxx has its faults too.the insane amount of pointless driving and the drifters being the 2 main ones.so it wasn't perfect.but they just got so much right with it that it came together perfectly, faults and all.Īll in all, I think Gearbox just doesn't have a clue when it comes to DLC.fan feedback be damned. I also think Knoxx kinda saved B1 from being just another forgotten shooter to be honest. I think it's safe to say that this time around most of us were expecting Knoxx quality DLC (a fair expectation since it was by far the most popular DLC from the first game) and Gearbox just didn't (or doesn't) have it in them to deliver something that great. All the rest from the first game are extremely boring.and pretty much all the DLC from this game has been lackluster (although Torgue had its moments I guess). They haven't released another DLC even close to that one.

Here's something I haven't thought of until recently.maybe Gearbox just got lucky with The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.

There are two chests in the area that I have been able to upgrade some of my gear. At about level 58, I hit a wall pretty hard and needed some gear. Or there is a similar, yet significantly less LLMs, with a quest from Brick in Thousand Cuts.

You have to clear your cache and play offline if you want to do this. Mostly because Gearbox hates people having fun. I've found it best to briefly enter the Natural Selection Annex, as that allow you to skip fully half of the preserve on subsequent runs. These guys have good chances to drop any legendary or even pearlescent weapon, and also drop e-tech relics which are among the best in game, on an all-around basis. The boxes are in the small room with the red loot chest just before you get to her original enclosure. For some reason, the Doctors Orders mission you get after running Wildlife Exploitation the first time causes Legendary Loot Midgets to spawn in 3 of the 4 cardboard boxes in the area where Bloodwing's first enclosure resides. Right now, the best loot run in the game at UVHM doesn't even involve a boss.
